Want to help the music program directly by donating needed equpiment and materials?

The National Teacher Registry is a free service for schools and teachers that enables them to create a list of the items they need for their classrooms. Conceptually it is similar to a wedding or baby shower registry.

With the National Teacher Registry, parents and others can find a teacher's registry, purchase items from the list, and have the items delivered to the classroom.

Important: Please read and act NOW!

Be a "positive" advocate for music education.

Please remember, you are in control of keeping music and the arts in our schools, let your support of music education be known. Talk to your students administrators and tell them the arts are important to your child’s education.

Contact your school board representatives @ (http://www.lyon.k12.nv.us/html/members.html).

Call or write to your Nevada legislators and express that you want them to support and fight for continued funding of music and the arts as a part your child’s complete education.

Please feel free to use this as your your letter, or write your own if you wish.

Dear Yerington Band parent,

The new school year is in full swing, it's time to keep up those music “chops” and begin developing them for band. As director of bands at YHS I have been teaching private lessons on band instruments for over 15 years and would love to continue this year. If you or your band student want to work a little just to keep fresh, hope to develop a hidden talent or get ahead in band this fall, please contact me to set up some one on one private lessons or get together with some others for group lessons. The end goal is to keep music at Yerington going strong and make sure it continues to have a strong presence in our community

Musically yours,
